Grant Taylor was named after his father, Reverend Granison Taylor. He was the fourth of five children born to Roxie Coleman Taylor and Reverend Taylor. There were already three other children when he was born: Ernest, Robert and Mattie Mae. He was different from his siblings, as all children are. Some say that he was the "best looking" of the four boys.Still, others claim he was prone to what they call "foolishnes."
