It's Father's Day and I am remembering Daddy. More than being my "dad," he was my "daddy." The latter sound so much more personal while "dad"sounds so formal. We never used the expression, "dad," in our hoiusehold. I guess every little girl grows up looking up to her father and admiring him. I loved Daddy because he was so smart. He constantly read his two newspaper, "Memphis Press Semitar" and the "Clarksdale Register." After Daddy was diagnosed with cancer in 1969, we became closer. I was asssigned the job of "getting his affairs in order . . . as he supervised the endeavor. I was responsible for writing all his correspondences concerning Social Security and Veteran Affairs. Daddy was a generous and kind man but like all fathers, he was "human."
